Dr Mathew Bricalli

Founder & Director

Mathew has over 13 years of experience in aerospace engineering research and product development. He has worked in successful orbital rocket space start-ups as well as in academia.

He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace related to engineering propulsion and fluid dynamics, and a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Queensland. Mathew has published over 20 international Journal papers in the field of aerospace engineering.

At the 2022 Space Awards, Mathew was the recipient of the Individual Innovator of the Year Award.

David Andrews

David has over 20 years of experience in mechanical and aerospace engineering consulting and product development. He has worked in successful orbital rocket space start-ups as well as innovative mechanical engineering consultancies in the mining sectors.

In this time he has developed expertice in a wide range of instruments which have been applied to rockets through to mining equipment to measure performance and diagnose issues.

David also is a listed inventor of two patented innovative products used in the mining industry.

Dr James Barth

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, James has spent more than 15 years’ working in engineering, research and technology development settings, with a focus on technology solutions for some of the hardest decarbonisation challenges in the world.

Specialising in aerothermal and system architecture challenges, James has tackled problems ranging from multi-phase microscale flows to heavy industrial processes. He has significant expertise in zero-carbon hydrogen and ammonia-fuelled systems for maritime, power generation, aerospace, and other hard to abate industries.

In more than 6 years in senior leadership roles, James has managed complex projects and built high performing multidisciplinary teams. Through his experience as a startup co-founder, James also has strong capabilities in strategy, techno-economic analyses, business development, and communication.
